Just go and see. Tey would help you.
Hi so I have a German Shepherd labador mix and she is A large dog but won't get any bigger she super friendly LOVES attention and is protective of her family. But unfournately we have to give her away. Is anybody up for interest to adopt her? Also her name is Hazel and she's about a year and 4 months old.
The people at Anti Cruelty will be glad to help you. Check their website to see the dogs that are available. The staff and volunteers will listen to your needs and desires and will try to match you up with a dog that is right for your family.
Why don't you try to find your pet, put up some flyers and call the shelters. Doesn't your pet have a micro chip?
I went to animal welfare league in chicago ridge and got a full bred Am Staff. You would have to bring your family and when you choose a dog you will have the opportunity to judge their response. Also, when I got bruno they told me he was a young dog and would need to play. That was not the case. He came home w/us and i had 5 cats at the time and another dog and he never had a problem. Except when I first got him he was finally diagnosed with a sensitive stomach. They will provide health care free of charge in the event something it wrong with the pet. Another thing, this shelter has their dogs breed specific. If you are lookig for a shitzu you won't see chinuar, pitbulls or other dogs in the same area. All breeds are together so you will be able to walk up the aisle and see their temperament.
Try their website
Go on their website and search the adoptable dogs. Thery indicate whether they are good with kids, other dogs etc.. Also look at PAWS Chicago's website. Similar format online. Good luck
