Do not think in terms of time. What matters most is getting the dog that fits your family. If you have kids and other pets, the shelter needs this info. You are adopting a new member of the family, & need be sure that everyone gets along.
About 30 to 45 minutes is all it took for mine,,,ad long as you have a dog in mind, good luck
If you already have a dog at home you have to bring them and everyone in the household has to meet the animal you will be adopting.
