I was searching for a great place to adopt a cat and found this one! They were awesome from the time I called to the time I adopted my new pet. I now have a new addition named Carlos to my family! He's very sweet and energetic! Love him!

I went to adopt a kitty that I ended up naming kovu (Cuervo) and he’s a really good boy and it was amazing there process was fast and easy but they also have many choices and the way to meet the cats was amazing we went into the room and got to meet so many beautiful cat friends would totally recommend adopting from here Ps Cuervo is doing amazing and is getting along with my family very well

We were referred to ACL by a friend. Very glad they did! We toured through the “cat rooms” and found the one we were looking for. Appointment only which suited us just fine. There was no rush and no pressure. It was a very pleasant way to find the cat that was the best for us and vice versa. We would happily come here again and highly recommend ACL to others.

I adopted my giant headed nugget from Animal Care League - they're amazing! I had a LOT of questions and they were patient and made sure that I was comfortable before taking Cricket home. Also, they accept donations, so if you have any extra food or blankets or toys lying around, they could go to good use!

Hi Maida just let the adoption counselor know and / or note it on your application so that we can have someone available to translate at your adoption appointment. Thanks! Hello Maida- Please let the adoption counselor know and / or write it down on your application so we can have someone available to translate at your adoption appointment. Thanks!
Yes, Animal care league has a low cost clinic in spaying and neutering.
All people in the household should meet a possible pet before bringing them home. It is standard practice with most adoption agencies.
I have two male Guinea pigs can I bring them there?
I know they would appreciate it. I have brought lots of towels to them
Yes, the ACL will accept all types of birds or other small animals.
Yes , beautiful cats and kittens ready for new homes !!!
The dogs change often. Which is a good thing! We like seeing them adopted! Sometimes they get dogs from other shelters that don't have enough room. Check the website often to see who's available. Remember, adopt! Don't shop. Pet stores sell puppy mill pups.
Call the shelter directly tomorrow to see if they have space. They open at 10 am on a Saturday.
You didn't mention what town you live in, but if it's oak park, call animal control. They will have to trap the kittens & also the momma. Then they will bring them to Animal Care League. The mother cat needs to be spayed so she won't have more kittens. I don't work there, but I foster cats for ACL because they have no more shelter space. Think of becoming a foster family. The shelter will pay for food & medical care. Allyou have to supply is the love!
Walk ins only for adoption application,or just fill it out on line,if looking to adopt,go to their website and fill out adoption screening form, will get in touch with you,by email or phone, whichever you prefer, and you can also donate on line and become a member, like me.
They are supposed to be opening up sometime in October 2021, check their website or call them.
We don't adopt ferrets but you can definitely check out greater Chicago ferret association http://www.gcfa.com/
Call tomorrow
Yes, they accept all types of animals including guinea pigs.
Cats and dogs are spay/neutered, receive distemper and rabies vaccinations and are microchipped.
I lost my dog and i had to pay $80 to get her out for a micro chip and other fees .they wanted to charge me for a rabies shot but i told them she already had them
They are closed mon-wednesday opening Thursday's at 11,,so keep trying or just bring them in,,,they are great there
You need to give them a call. Shelter population is very high.
You can go to theit website they upload a quick bio of the animal including price breed, spayed or neutered and the age... Hope you find what your looking for there's alot of pets waiting for a good home good luck,😊
I'm sure you can,,,call the emergency phone# and maybe they can help,,,GOOD luck They Are Closed Til Wednesday
Check the website under the "critters" section. They have whatever walks in.
Call first to check to see if they have space. They're a small shelter. If they don't have room, check with other NO KILL shelters or a Pitty Rescue. Just Google for one.
This is a wonderful place and everyone there is real friendly so if you call in I'm sure they will be more than glad to help you and give you the information that you need
You can go to the Animal Care League's website. They have pictures of the dogs available for adoption.
Do not think in terms of time. What matters most is getting the dog that fits your family. If you have kids and other pets, the shelter needs this info. You are adopting a new member of the family, & need be sure that everyone gets along.
Best to look at the website to see what dogs are up for adoption. They post really good pictures.
You have to call and make an appointment if your looking to surrender your animals
Yes,they welcome them,
no certain hours but not sure about the fees sorry
They do adopt out small kittens. But if you do not already have a cat in the house you have to adopt 2 kittens.
