All people in the household should meet a possible pet before bringing them home. It is standard practice with most adoption agencies.
Have rule to meet all the people in household @ most responsible shelters. #1 interest is ANIMAL welfare. I am sure they are not trying to discriminate but to protect! l urge your cooperation. Please support & respect the adoption process. ( i am a foster with another shelter)
It's not just a standard practice, it's a must for well-being and good relationship, both for adopting person and adopted pet. What if a person and a pet will dislike each other from the very first contact?
But I think people who are bed bound house bound ate being discriminated because they are disable so how can they come to a facility to meet and greet a possible pet? They say they offer no services to bring animal to home to meet but my mother was there my father's wife. All animals are not the same once they leave the environment of being caged. My cat is not the cat I met at the shelter he was friendly than once he got settled in he was not friendly only when it's time to eat. I'm just confused to their rules and they are holding back animals from having a good home...
