Yes what Liz said. I eat her twice a week. Their food is great. The whole Popeyes thing doesn't bother me at all.

1) She does not keep it a secret, the dish name even reflects it 2) the "scandal" was trumped up by the long beach post with no good reason 3) there are loads of great dishes on the menu that have nothing to do with Popeyes or waffles. 4) chicken & waffles is a southern dish in a southern themed restaurant. It makes sense. 5) Popeyes corporation has been asked for permission to use their name and has not responded. Whatever your reason for dredging this up again, it's a waste of time to trash a great neighborhood restaurant. Tacky.

Who cares about the name? That's superficial to be concerned about worldly issues. The food is good, the staff is awesome, it's "authentic" and cozy, that's all that is important.
