Well it depends on a couple of factors. They say it doesn't have to do with your income but say it's according to other factors. They call their formula the "affordable housing" factor (% of area median income)! They accept Section 8 Credit Vouchers (existing, no new applications accepted), plus other so-called housing assistance peograms. Recently, a new tenant told me she signed a lease in the amount of $945.00 a month for a 1-bedroom. The day she moved in she got a notice the amount had already increased! The lease does state rents can be increased whenever! My rent was suppose to be 60% of my net income, just recently it has now been increased to over 100% of my social security retirement and I do not qualify for any housing assistance! L.A. County has the highest rents in the country, especially for those of us with the lowest incomes! My suggestion, consider renting in any other county! Good Luck!
