Fort Lauderdale terminal after Renovations is one of the greatest terminals restaurants, Duty free shops, Starbucks, and a lot of fast food brands, no McDonalds or Burger king, All restaurants are healthy fast and fresh food.
Depends on your terminal. I was able to stay yesterday for all 5 hours of my layover because I was in the same terminal. However in December I had to leave and go through TSA again because of a terminal switch.
