Unfortunately they will not accept stuffed animals as a donation. The main reason is they are afraid of the potential for disease transfer as there is a lot of immune compromised kids. They do have stuffed bears that kids get after surgery or a procedure but those are secured from a singe source that has a rigorous process to ensure there is no potential for disease. I know this because i run a toy drive every year and we have inquired with them in the past. I also now work closely with their charitable organization as my son is currently receiving treatments there.
They have a foundation Dept at children's. They're located at the Durham building across the street just west of the hospital. Look them up on Google search and give them a call.
You can always ask a doctor or front receptionist.
