The Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport is private. The Kennedy Museum on Main Street Hyannis is open year round but there are no grounds per se. They offer benches to sit on and a bronze statue of JFK in a dune setting. However you can walk the Rose Kennedy Walkway from the museum to Hyannis Harbor. A nice stroll.
There is now a JFK Legacy Trail you can walk, with 9 stops, ending at the JFK memorial at Veteran's Beach. You can find it online or pick up a brochure with map outside the museum or at shops/hotels along Main St. Very worthwhile but with young kids let them have wheels: bike, scooter, or stroller.
The museum closes the end of November and reopens April
The only thing of any value to see outside the building is a statue of JFK.
yeah i saw people doing that when i was there. it was closed
There is no fence around the building
