It is worth visiting, no doubts about that. However you have to expect a quite standard display of artefacts with text. No interactive systems, and only few videos. Kids able to read and patient enough to spend about 90 minutes doing so will enjoy the place.
Worth a visit. Good displays, decent prices and interesting material.
Great question. It definitely depends on your expectations. If you like the subject (pirates, Cape Cod, 18th century nautical history, etc.), you can't help but admire the effort they put into preserving the findings from the Whydah. If you're looking to be entertained passively, or if you are expecting a museum perfect experience, some of the displays will disappoint because it's got only so much money coming in. I thought it was charming and educational, but your mileage may vary.
Yes it is worth visiting.
Worth visiting! An authentic view and interaction with real pirate life, treasure and their fate.
Very interesting if you're into history and learning about an actual real pirate.
Personally I thought it was awesome. Not the biggest of places, but if you're interested in that sort of stuff then yes
We enjoyed it very much and just big enough for the kids
Far from a tourist trap if you are truly interested in Cape Cod history. If not don’t go. It’s real and In this day and age most people only like (fake) reality. FYI: With a all the movies, books, stories, etc about pirates, pirate ships and shipwrecks, this is the only sunken pirate shipwreck that has ever been discovered and recovered. And if that’s not enough, another piece of Boston/Cape Cod history: JFK Jr worked on the recovery years ago.
