If the Humane society turns you away, go to Greenville Animal Care. They talk all animals, including strays and will work to find a new home. They are working to become a no-kill shelter.
Check with the vets sometimes they will take them and help get adopted
It's a 35 dollar fee to take an animal to this shelter.
The small humane society cannot accept animals, the larger facility can and usually takes in almost all animals, but cannot take in the following: -food aggressive animals -terminally ill animals -rescued fighting animals -animals who are aggressive towards humans
Everyone needs understand that “no kill” shelter status doesn’t mean they don’t kill at all. If animals are ill or not adoptable, they have to euthanize. Greenville County Animal Care often gets over full and sometimes have to put down or limit healthy intake, especially big dogs. Definition of no kill is 91% adopted out.
