The game of hotel pricing is two-fold but definitely in favor of the business and not the guests. Now that being said. All....ALL....hotel pricing policies are based upon the following: 1st) WHAT TIME OF DAY YOU ARRIVE & CHECK-IN This factor alone can mean a HUGE price difference! Key is: NEVER CHECK-IN BEFORE check-in hrs. to avoid pro-rated charges of the time period prior to your arrival. If check-in begins at 2pm but you're in town by 12:45pm it is best to wait til 2pm to then check-in. Got it? Great. 2nd) Majority of hotels are charging legally unenforceable 'Pre-Authorization Fees' to those who use debit/credit cards to pay for room costs. Such fees can range from $25.00 to as much as $300.00! Yes, you read that right. Most tend to average about $50.00 - $150.00. The hotel management will state that this charge is to secure they get paid in case your card number doesn't go through or in case you skip out without paying. Yet, know that BANKS DO NOT UPHOLD/SUPPORT that.
