I am scheduled for a knee replacement with Dr. Redmond on 2/15. Is it safe or recommended for me to get the COVID vaccine first shot tomorrow and the second one on 2/28 which is just 2 weeks prior to my surgery date. Please answer ASAP.

You will be in the hospital less than 24 hours. My dad did his in June with Redmond and I had the same concern. He had a private room. Worst part was the male nurse who didn't pull the mask up over his nose. Crazy. So bottom line, I think you are pretty safe. But if the vaccine does not interfere with the surgery, and you are able to get it, why not. Call Amy at Redmond's office and ask if it's approved.
