No public transportation to the center. But greyhound, or Amtrak offer services to the nearest town Greenfield. It is about 15 minutes ride from Greenfield to the center. You can call for taxi service from there. Usually you can find people for carpool at Greenfield if you take Amtrak. There is useful transportation information on the webwite as well.
There's a shuttle service from NYC that picks you up in mid town (in front of Pizza Supremo on 32nd St) and drops you right in the main courtyard at VMC on Day 0. It brings you right back on the morning of Day 11 but you have to book both ways with a 1 day notice.

Not directly, but there are bus routes to Boston, Worcester, and Amherst with plenty of people carpooling to Shelburne Falls from those locations
