Park at the back of Aviation Mall and follow the path that enters Coles Woods near the Queensbury water plant and tower. Walk towards the buildings that are under the tower and you will see a path that goes right along the outside of the fence. You can also enter the forest by parking at the bend of the road after you drive past the YMCA. I recommend you take a picture of the trail map because there are several paths that are not on the map so it is easy to get confused. I love it there in the morning between 7 and 9 when there are almost no other people and the early light filters down through the tall trees. If you would like to get an glimpse of the trails, check out my post from awhile back on my Facebook page; A Day Well Spent. I will also be doing a Zoom presentation for the Conklin Center on April 27. The focus will be on some of the places near Glens Falls and perhaps a few day trips where you can take an easy walk and see wildflowers and other interesting things.
There is a limited space parking area just off Fire Road. For me I take my Delorean Bicycle to ride through the nature trails to get to Planet Fitness. I consider the trails as the secret coyote path to the Aviation Mall, especially the gym.
You can also use back of YMCA parking lot, in front of ice rink.
The parking area is right on the bend in the road, not connected to a building.
There is a little parking spot down the road from the YMCA you could park at
