Does one need a referral from their primary care physician in order to see the hand doctor?

It is your insurance that may require a referral, not the physician. Most HMO plans require referral, just call your insurance company and ask if a referral is needed and if the Dr you want to see is covered. Dr. Olarte is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
