I water jog in the chest high water swim lanes. I entered diabetic #s in Nov, but after 5 months of water jogging 3 times a week for an hour, and a 30 lb weight loss (no more than 1200 cals a day) my blood sugars are now completely normal. So, I recommend the pool. The have land yoga classes also and water aerobics.
I would start with the first one to do would be is walking around the pool. As you walk laps . Work your arms like your swimming. As you get back in tone . If you are a swimmer. If you know how to swim some than wirlpool . Than walk ,than swim a little than wirlpool. But still watch your diet. I been there and I myself love the diving board. I am very good on the board. Deep water aerobics is good for weight loss, without hurting your joints. You control how much you exert & lose. Exercise bikes are also good.
Suggest the Gentle Joints Class. Gentle on joints, strengthen bones, energizes in the warm water.
