I am newer to the area and was needing to have my son’s Medicaid transferred. I started to stress when I looked up the phone number and saw such low reviews. I am unsure if there was a staff turnover or what, but the individuals we dealt with were AMAZING. Michelle Beckham s was compassionate and so helpful!!! Everything was handled within 24 hours of me reaching out, even with them being short staffed and working from home. Thank you all so much!!

You must report to NY that your have left the state and close your case. You then reapply in Virginia. It takes up to 45 to get a determination.
Medicaid is a state run program and eligibility criteria differ from state to state.
The programs your may be eligible for are SNAP, TANF and MEDICAID. Child Support will come into play with all of these programs.
You can only use a PO Box as a mailing address. You have to give your residential address unless you are homeless.
You go to www.commonhelp.virginia.gov. You'll set up a login ID and password. Once in you click "APPLY FOR BENEFITS.". It's called "FOOD ASSISTANCE" on that website.
TANF is basically state sponsored child support. It creates a debt that the non-custodial parent will be forced to repay.
Go online to commonhelp website. There's an online application and once you submit it, a worker will send you a letter with the date and time for a phone interview.
