It's not required, but it does make a huge difference. The actors interacted with those dressed up more than the casual attired.
No you don't but it's good to wear something nice, remember you will be dining on the titanic, (that's if you have tickets for the dinner evening), sets the scene for the whole evening. Great evening it is too!
I believe it's by choice, but not sure. I think it's to get the experience but again I'm not sure.
