Lucky Straws, is the best place to get boba tea, you can get your tea with or without tapioca balls or jellies. The drinks without the added stuff is very delicious as well. Very Safe for teens to hang and have fun, lots of board games. Adult, teen and kid friendly. Just a Great Place. Very friendly staff. I'm very impressed with this place.

The chewy things, at least the regular boba, are usually tapioca pearls soaked in a warm syrup to hydrate them.

They are Boba... A kind of large tapioca pearl. Kept warm to keep them chewy. If they get cold they turn hard

It depends on what you order but if you get boba not jellies, they're made out of tapioca and boiled, then sit in simple syrup.
