Is the water part of the river? If not what kinds of fish are in it?

Mostly Illinois river water. As you come into the park the lakes on the left are old Keystone holding ponds. I am not sure if theses ponds are cleared by the EPA ;).... however, drive all the way in, swimming and fishing from the river is fun!!

Back round about waters from the river. I fish there all the time but never catch anything though I've had friends that have caught some half way decent cat. Lots of carp though cause i see them flipping and flopping about and some nice dough balls should reel them in if you know what you doing although i don't care about catching them myself. Look up old school carp dough balls in Google and you will have a nice fight in no time
