You can return cars on either side, so if flying AA, return on the B-side then walk over to AA.
I always follow the signs, and never had a problem. Tamp was much harder to figure out!

Follow the signs to your car rental company. Then walk across the street to the terminal and follow the signs for American Airlines. Did you really need random strangers to tell you this on Google?!
Follow the signs to your rental company. They should provide a shuttle to the terminal.
