Not many get seriously injured a few scrapes and a bruise will be the worst. The wave pool actually requires a specific wristband and a waver to be signed to gain full access. (Standing requires a waver as previously mentioned) Personally i dont know of anyone who's been injured badly riding the wave pool.
The worst I've ever had was a sore neck the next day. But you do have to sign a special waiver to stand on the surf machine. You can kneel or lay down without signing the waiver though. I did it several times and loved it! Though I wiped out pretty good a time or two!
I doubt very many people do. Other than falling and getting a little bump or bruise like the other person mentioned. The whole place felt really safe and there were lots of life guards and staff. If you're a beginner they make you lay down and like boogyboard surf. Only advanced people get to stand. They offer classes for kids to take to learn.
I personally don't know of any serious injuries. Bumps and bruises but that is about it
That is kind of a strange but good question Mike.
