Yes, the California Route 66 Museum is free. There is no admission to visit the museum. We are a nonprofit organization and supported only by the public. Many of our visitors leave a donation to help support the museum; there is a donation jar in the museum. Also items purchased at our gift shop also help to support us. All docents and staff are volunteers who give their time for the love of the Mother Road. Also, there is no set donation that is required.

There's no admission charge, but they ask that you either make a donation or make a purchase in the gift shop. It was a wonderful glimpse into Route 66 in its heyday!

It's free, very nice place to buy or take funniest pics.

Yep, it's free. But it is so full of info., pictures and the docents are friendly and full of knowledge that you will want to leave a donation to keep it going!

Diane Miller | Sep 8, 2018

It's free to enter but I always try to purchase something even if it's only water. All the staff are volunteers with an amazing amount of knowledge and it's important to keep that kind of knowledge alive!

Even though it is free to get in they are all volunteers and extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Route 66. I made sure to purchase some memorabilia and donate $5 for each member of my family. I believe that's the only way this piece of American history will stay alive.
