If there is a mandatory evacuation, why don't I get my money back on the beach house I rented? We were only there for 3 days, and told we had to leave

Sorry to hear about your vacation. Definitely a bummer. There is a reason prices drop during hurricane season, and why the rental companies offer travel insurance for loss of use. If you didn't get the insurance, I don't think they are legally obligated to refund anything, but check your rental agreement.

We are having the same issue with this company. The hurricane hit the same day as check in. We were told not to check in and haven't heard anything since that. They told us we will not be refunded for anything. We contacted the credit card company for fraudulent charges.

Did you guys gets travel insurance?! That is crazy!!!!!

Hi Kathleen, I’m sorry about your loss. We do offer every guest travel insurance that is meant to cover your vacation investment. Because of the unfortunate reality of hurricanes, particularly in September and October, we think taking the insurance is the right thing to do. On some occasions our owners will refund a guest that did not take the insurance but that is their call and generous of they choose to do that.
