Do you need an appointment for an oil change & rotation? Is the 40K service something I can just drive in and wait for and if so, how long would I have to wait?

I think you can but I wouldn't know as I've only used appointments. I assume you can walk in but you are subject to how busy they are and when they can fit you in. I was just in and this service should take less than an hour.
