They don't bag the groceries for you. There are counters for you to bag your own groceries in bags that you have brought or have bought there. Also bring a quarter for a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you put the cart away. It is there way of making sure all the carts get back and not in the parking lot.
You don't have to purchase bags. You can use boxes if you choose. (Like Sam's)
They have bags to purchase they are fairly cheap and last a good while, but old Wal-Mart plastic bags work too. I've shopped at Aldi's for years before I moved to Georgia I don't have many complaints. The store in Matinez has gotten better in the few years it's been there.
