Recreational marijuana is legal in Massachusetts for adults over 21 years of age. The state has been slow to issue licenses to stores for recreational usage: as of January 2019, there is one shop in Northampton that sells recreational cannabis.
Boston Smoke Shop in Roslindale MA that sells recreationally, they don't have as many options as a medical Dispensaries but they still have a good selection of products.

It is infuriating that the snobs on beacon hill have ignored a democratic mandate to legalize the sale of pot and not allowed ships to open after almost 3 years!!!!
This is medical only. Rec stores were supposed to be ready for July 1, 2018, but they has been postponed again. There is no expected date for when stores may begin selling recreational. Even then, that doesn't mean that current medical-only dispensaries will automatically be going rec, as rec licenses are very limited and the state is being stingy to award them.
