Hi Dawn. MaryAnne's answer is correct...our adoption fees for adult cats (6 months or older) is $99-$199, and the fee for a kitten is $350. Greg's info is also correct (and appreciated) where he pointed out that adopting from us saves you in the long run because all cats (and dogs too) go home already spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (all age-appropriate vaccinations), a voucher for a free exam at a participating veterinarian's office, free 30-day pet insurance and lifelong support from our behavior experts. All those extras are included in the adoption fee. If you want to see what pets are available at any time, visit https://www.dakinhumane.org/adopt-a-pet.html#!/ This page constantly updates to show our animals. Hope we can help you.
At Dakin they assess each cat or dog on their adaptability. Cute kittens can run you $350. I myself have never paid money for a pet..until now. I wanted a kitten, but after reading the website I went there with an open mind. At the time they had a low population, I knew that, and diden't expect to get one that day. I found a 12 year old for $79. She is fixed and had all her shots except the rabies shot. They gave me a voucher to get it done for free at a participating vet. All the shots cost way more than $79. SO I actually saved money by going to Dakin. The cat was homeless, I can relate. She is no longer homeless. I saw one for $59 but was already spoken for. Good luck. I hope this gives you a better idea of how they price an animal and kinda answers your question.
Depending on how old you want the cat to be they charge (6 months or older) around $99 to $199 and (6 months or younger) $350.
