Yes! Small bags of chips and water you can bring small water cooler too!
You can take a few small snacks (no big bags of chips for example) but you're not supposed to bring drinks except for water. They do bag checks as you come in. We were able to bring a couple bottles of Gatorade in by putting them at the bottom of our backpack and putting our towels on top of them.
