Actually you can ether take a battery to a scrap yard if it's automotive as scrap lead and get paid for it. Or there is a used battery guy on 34th st. and 30th ave. North in St Pete. He will pay you $10 per automotive battery. If the battery is a used lithium or whatever else, non lead based. The hazardous waste next door on Frontage road will take it. They are also part of Pinellas county waste management. As for paint. They only take up to 5 x 5gallon buckets of paint at a time per individual. So mix together your paint and fill up those buckets to the top if need be. Unless the paint is dry. Then it goes to solid waste instead.
can you drop off lithium ion batteries?
Yes, there are 4 areas electronics, paint and tree's and brush , then regular trash... you have to separate it and they will tell you where to go...
