The trainers are aware that most people who are seeking help with training are those who may have never had a dog before, therefore, it goes to say that most of the training is working on the basics and are usually, but not always using young dogs under a year or two. I don't know if all the Petsmarts offer one-on-one training, but some have. And, there are a series of training that are geared towards the "Canine Citizenship" certification. Their prices are competitive, and are generally less than most private trainers, but all is relative to what you really want to accomplish.
