Dont know if you can set up a camping tent. I guess it depends on the size. Never saw anyone do that yet.

You can't camp or bbq but an hour or two of shade tent shouldn't be a problem if not right on a trail and all cleaned up after.
I've seen people picnicking or having a b-day party who have set up a canopy and even a volleyball net at the boathouse I don't see why not!
