We have a 55 gal salt tank.Putting in new carpet, need to move tank. Taking this opportunity to switch to a fresh water set up. Can we drain the salt water tank and clean the filtration system and use existing set up for fresh water fish? Thank you!

If the"gravel" is actually crushed coral it will only be good for African's or high PH fish. Same goes for any decorations that maybe coral

This is my opinion, I'm NOT an expert: I would take everything out, get rid of any substrate and boil furnishings. Then, rinse the tank out with hot water and same with the filter(s). Use new cartridges... Do Not Recycle Any of the cartridges from the salt tank! When you set up the freshwater tank, use a water conditioner and cycle it for a while until the bacteria is at the right level. You can do this by putting 1 fish in it and letting it sit for a couple of weeks. Make sure to do water sample tests to adjust levels. I hope this helps. 🐡🐠🐳

I think it should be okay as long as you get as much of the salt out as possible. I would clean the tank and it's decor too just to make sure. Otherwise you might end up with brackish water.
