No, past a certain time, you have to have an id card and you have to have your room key for the elevator

They lock the back door early in the evening, all visitors have to walk past the small front desk area. I felt safe during my stay. Additionally, I believe there are safes in each room if I remember correctly.

As mentioned before it's not the best area but I felt safe. There is always someone on the door and you need your key to access the elevators.

The area isn't the best, but they have someone at the door and require you show your card to get in. I didn't feel it was an issue.
