Every person who's signature is being notarized must be there. The people at aim mail center are happy to answer your questions and while you don't need a appointment, it's always a good idea to check in advance to make sure the notary is there.
The idea of a witness is that they are witnessing the signing of your document. If your document requires witnesses and a notary then the witnesses do have to be present when the document is signed in the notary's presence. An Acknowledgement type of notary does not have to be signed in front of the notary, however, a Jurat type does. If you are unsure of which type of notary is required then we highly suggest waiting until you are with the notary before signing.
