to watch a rated r movie can your parent go with you and tell them that you can watch it and just buy you the ticket or does your parent have to actually watch the entire movie with you??

You need to be accompanied by an adult in the picture itself they say. But I think as long as your parent[s] is aware what picture you're seeing and what it's rated and they give the O.K. for your to see it without them I think you can actually GO INTO and WATCH the picture without that adult present. Possibly the ADULT buying the ticket MAY NEED to physically go into the theatre WITH the underage individual but that's all. They don't need to WATCH the picture with the underage party. Hope this helped . I'm not 100% certain on any of this though since I'm in my mid-30's and it's been awhile. Also things may have changed since then

The ticket just needs to be bought by the 18+ person.
