Leave it in the paper bag and heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds and place a line of moistened paper towel inside and it will recover its texture

I keep it in a plastic Ziploc bag. You can soften it by sprinkling it with water and enclosing it in foil before heating it up.

Put the bread inside a paper bag, then put it inside a plastic bag and get the most air out of it. If you leave the plastic bag open, air will make your bread hard like a rock.

I suggest that, if you not eating at the moment you buy it. Put it on the freezer and when you want to eat it take it out and let it unfreeze by it self.
