Definitely NOT! Totally unsanitary. Definitely against kitchen etiquette. One does not eat in a food prep or cooking area.

Yes. A cook or chef should enjoy their own product! I wouldn't be offended however, if that person chose to bring lunch or order out considering the number of times he or she may have eaten the same dish. A good chef will taste his or her food during the cooking process. Eating lunch while cooking food is unacceptable. The manager should be notified in that case. Today, everyone has a camera. If you see something, film something.
