Yes, that’s fine. They should bring insurance too. The customers comment about the grandma having to be brought in would have been for something other than renewing...like replacing a decal (instead of renewing)

Same thing happened with my grandma and we rounded up having to bring her in cuz she had to show her ID and sign paperwork
