I went Thursday. There are specific time slots for tickets. A self guided thorough tour would not be over an hour to 45 minutes. It wasn't too crowded when I went at 1:00 pm. The whole museum took us about 4 hours.
Plan on an hour and a half. One hour wasn't long enough for me. There are also other fabulous exhibits to see there as well.
It was a little crowded when I went, but you could get through it in under 30 minutes if you really tried

The Egyptian exhibit didn't take long. Go at your own pace.
We went on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm and it took us about 30-40 minutes to walk through the Queen Nefertari exhibit and another hour and a half for the rest of the museum. I would carve out 2 - 2.5 hours for viewing and another 30 minutes if you plan on stopping at the gift shop or the café
It took us two hours to read all of the exhibit tags and discuss the exhibits.
Don't rush. The Egyptian QUEEN NEFERTARI exhibit is worth at least an hour and a half. Rest of the museum merits at least three hours. I love NOMA. I even love the little Café and gardens.
