I've always use Bay Area AC and would highly recommend them. There is a diagnosis charge if you do not want to repair your unit and if you do have the repairs done they won't charge you the diagnosis charge. I recommend Shane if you a great tech. Yes

Here at Bay Area, we don't use misleading practices. It is very easy for a company to add the charge required for the service call/diagnostic, on to the repair charge, but it's not ethical.

No service calls are NOT free. I don't know about diagnostic charges. I do know the service call is reasonable. They are prompt. Some times I had same day service. Such as when Irma came through. I couldn't find my own A.C. repair people. I called Bay Area. They were there in hours. I wasted may years with the other company & was never happy. Technician was nice, personable, on time, & a big one, respected my home.

I have no problems with the service calls, we need to pay for every service we request. I have a very good experience, they come check let me know what is wrong fix it and that it is all. I don’t have time to look for second opinion. Why not have the work done the first time. I try to avoid headaches.
