Walked part of Great Hill in the snow yesterday afternoon. The snow covering made the ice beneath parts invisible. Would recommend crampons. After this sleet and rain conditions inevitably have changed again. The trails with the least ice before the snow, etc. Were at the rear of Mt. Hope Cemetery. They were better than Morrison or Great Hill.
The trails vary. Today the yellow loop had areas of smooth ice but it was possible to walk on the edge of the trail for safer footing.
Parts will be icy. But overall passable. Might be better off in a flatter location like arboretum or Morrison farm.
I generally avoid GH in winter. Many sections have lots of rocks underneath. Def want microspikes or similar. Nearby is Pacy, pretty short but flat, few rocks.
Jennifer, are you asking for trail conditions, or what they're generally like?
