Great walking trails, big field, small pond, very dog friendly. If you or your kids don't like or are afraid of dogs, I wouldn't recommend

Fantastic place to relax, hike and let your dog go for a swim. Fun to watch as each dog has a unique habit to amuse you.

Nice area, well-marked trails, various small climbs and rock-hopping. Main trail is 2 miles, we zigged and zagged for 2.8. Very pleasant.

Where Google map took me was inaccurate. Fortunately, I drove along the edge of the park area and found a small marked entrance area at the end of Kelley Road, which was just a short distance from where I'd started. Someone tacked up trail maps to the trees, which was very handy. I took the yellow trail, which loops the whole park. Regularly, there were red trails; these were spokes out away from the center of the park, leading to various other entrances. I followed each of these to the end to get some extra steps in. Completing the whole yellow loop (with the red side trails) gave me about 7000 steps plus about 20 floors of elevation change. Fairly easy trail with a few muddy patches. Pretty quiet on a Wednesday morning.

There is a parking lot behind the firehouse on School street. There is also a lot on Main St (route 27) across from Prospect street
Walked part of Great Hill in the snow yesterday afternoon. The snow covering made the ice beneath parts invisible. Would recommend crampons. After this sleet and rain conditions inevitably have changed again. The trails with the least ice before the snow, etc. Were at the rear of Mt. Hope Cemetery. They were better than Morrison or Great Hill.
There are several places to park. The largest area is just to the right of the fire station on School Street in Acton. This leads you right to the playing field with trails beyond. There is also an easily found small dirt lot directly to the trails on Main Street across from the gas station where Main intersects with Prospect Street in a triangular configuration.
