Caltrain can take you as far as San Jose. You can then connect to the Amtrak coastal starlight which will take you to Los Angeles. The coastal route is very scenic and I would highly recommend. The ticket prices can be anything between 50-150$ depending on demand.
It doesn't go to Los Angeles.. only goes as fast as Gilroy with limited times.. otherwise last stop is San Jose
