I am a recent widow closer to Myakka City. I might need to downsize and downprice. I have always liked to look of Colony Cove. However, my job is closer to SR70. Is there any complex similar to yours around my area?
Parts Colony Cove are high enough to not need evacuation during the last hurricane. But as tough as the new structures here are, local officials thought it best to evacuate to shelters. These are nice homes, but, when push comes to shove. These are manufactured homes, not cinder block and steel.

Yes there was an evacuation last year. Like with all zones answer, as indicated by the news and law enforcement agencies indicate.
Ever since hurricane Andrew new mobile homes are built to withstand high winds. Ours was built to withstand 110 mph winds. Since hurricanes are unpredictable its still better to evacuate. We did with this last one. When we got home there was no damage. No one will make you leave.
