I'm pretty sure it was named by Elmer Valentine, who knows why he left off the e, maybe because he drank Scotch whisky
one more letter on the name took up more paint & more ink & more space...think of how much has been saved after all these years...
The story is that they couldn't get an all age permit if they left the e in whiskey. Remember this was back in the sixties when things were really stupid.
Originally named after the one in France. Whisky as in swinging hips.
