It's best to try and rehome them yourself. Ask family, friends and/or co-workers first. There's a fee to leave them at the shelter and with the overwhelming amount of pets coming into the Shelter, there are no guarantees.
You can offer them for adoption thru the internet or the NEXTDOOR app in KC - shelters are full of cats
Surrender them to KC Pet project they will find good homes for them .
