Depends on what kind of family activities you're referring to. If you want to walk jog or run as a family you can do that there. But if you mean a game of soccer, catch or a picnic that might be difficult. I highly recommend Kenneth Hahn State Recreational Park just across the street. It has trails. Places to do a BBQ or events, waterfall, lake/pond, Japanese garden, several children's play areas, basketball courts, ducks, fishing, wooden stairs wbjxh are cool for exercise, exercise areas, during the summer they have a kids camp. Free entry on weekdays. Weekends I think it's 5 or 6 bucks to get I but worth it unless you want to park on labrea and walk in. Otherwise just drive in from lacieniga.

I think it only has a walking trail here but the park on overhill you can use for family time
