No pets are allowed, with the exception of REGISTERED service animals. It is a grocery store and its the law. You cannot bring your dog into the store. A companion pet or emotional service animal DOES NOT QUALIFY as an ADA exception and may not be brought in the store Employees usually dont say anything because of the fear of confrontation. Animals are not allowed any placed food is stored, sold or consumed. This is state, and federal law.
Its also illegal for them to ask the condition. If emotional support animals are registered, you are good
They allow therapy dogs which is an "Emotional" animal. I think it depends on the size though as mine is small.
Seeing someone do it, does not mean that it should be done. Only service animals are allowed. The other people are breaking the law.
Then why do you allow people to bring non service pets in then?
Small pets, can not be in carts
I have seen people bring small pets in with no problem.
That is completely false I work at Walmart and they allow dogs no questions asked because we can't ask I see dogs everyday I even saw a reptile the other day
Let me clarify for ALL of you that are MISINFORMED on this subject. As a caregiver AND a person with a service dog I know these laws by heart. BOTH Service Dog AND E.S.A. MUST be allowed to accompany the person they are registered to regardless of state, city, town, local laws and ordinances. Store employees are NOT legally allowed to ask a persons disabilities, require ANY identifying markers (jackets, I.d., tags, or certification) for service dog OR E.S.A. the ONLY things they may ask are #1 Is the dog a service animal? #2 what services do they perform? The only answers that MUST be given to these questions are #1 yes/no and #2 They aid me with my disability. ANYTHING beyond that is ILLEGAL. The ONLY entities that may ask for ANY identifiers are #1 local p.d. in the case of a dispute and #2 a landlord. Any place that is a public venue not limited to but including restaurants and grocery stores MUST allow them in.
Pretty sure it is against the ADA to ask for registration on an animal... They can ask for what specific task it is TRAINED to do. Support animals do not count.
